Graduated at the School of Law of the State University of Siena with a dissertation on white-collar crimes entitled “False Accounting: False Corporate Communication Crimes Following the Legislative Decree Reforming Criminal Corporate Law”. He is admitted to the Italian Bar.
Throughout his studies and career, he has been specializing in criminal substantive and procedural law, focusing on issues concerning the defense of the accused and of parties filing civil claims within criminal proceedings in connection with crimes against property, safety at work, white collar crimes, bankruptcy and tax-related crimes, building and environmental crimes.
Presently he mainly deals with criminal corporate, tax and bankruptcy law; crimes against property and the public administration; professionals’ and entrepreneurs’ criminal liability; indictments in connection with environment protection and safety at work; and corporate entities’ liability for administrative offences ensuing from crimes under Legislative Decree 231/2001.
He has been retained by major international insurance companies to represent criminal or civil defendants committed for trial or summoned to court within criminal actions regarding crimes of an exclusively negligent character.
In addition, he is the author of articles and contributions on criminal, corporate, financial, and tax-related matters, published in newspapers and Internet reviews, namely: Milano & Finanza, Finanza & Mercati, Diritto24, Invice, Rivista 231, Il Tributo and Giurisprudenza Penale.
He is the scientific editor of a corporate crime feature in the monthly review and web portal www.economiaediritto.it, as well as a contribution to the textbook “Opera Omnia 231, Il D. Lgs 231/2001”, dealing with corporations’ administrative liability for criminal offences against industry and trade, with specific reference to food fraud instances.
Recently, he has obtained a post-graduate qualification as Specialized Criminal Lawyer from the Union of Italian Criminal Chambers (UCPI).
